5 Steps for Applying Falsies in Under 5 Minutes
Do you ever wear false lashes every day? Beautylish Creative Production Associate Desiree Ayers. Since the age of 2, she has worn strip lashes daily. "It's addictive. Desiree stated that they are a great way to boost confidence.
She added falsies to her daily makeup routine in an effort to enhance the natural eyelashes. Des claims that applying lashes takes just five minutes, despite having to glue strips to half-awake eyelids.
Desiree shares time-saving tips that will help you achieve lash-altering results which last throughout the day without lifting.
STEP 1: How do I prepare my false eyelashes for application
Desiree's tip: First measure your eye shape and then cut your lashes to size. I use tubing mascara to prevent my lashes from lifting from my corners. This helps the lashes adhere better to your lid curve and makes them look natural.
STEP 2 - What are the best glue application methods?
Desiree's tip: I love using brush-tip applicators for eyelash glues. I have control over how much glue I use and where it is placed. This makes it much easier to apply glue. To prevent lifting, I brush my entire lash line and then add more to the corners. For a stronger hold, you can add glue to the lash line.
STEP 3: When and how do you apply your eye makeup?
Desiree's Tip - Apply the lash glue to both of your false eyelashes. Allow them to dry for about 30 seconds. Place the band as close to your lash line as possible. After adjusting the corners, press down for about 5 to 7 seconds. Tweezers may be the best tool to apply false eyelashes. However, acrylics and long nails are better options.
STEP 4: How can I combine my false and natural lashes to ensure they don't split?
Desiree's tip: Let the glue dry for at least one minute. You can use mascara or a curler to ensure your false and natural lashes stay in place. Give your lashes a gentle squeeze. Synthetic eyelashes can be used to seal your lashes. I recommend BADGal BANG Volumizing Mascara. The bristles of this wand coat each eyelash in a bold, dramatic look, even if they don't have false lashes. Do not apply mascara to your high-end lashes. Curl your natural lashes before you apply mascara.
STEP #4 - What about eyeliner?
Desiree's tip: False lashes won't stay put if the liquid liner is applied before they are applied. Lifting is more common if the lash base isn't clean before it is applied. This is why I prefer to apply my liner after applying false eyelashes.
